The Picks:

Inspector Oh 3Inspector Oh #3 – Devil’s Due/1First Comics continues the adventures of exorcists Oh and his niece Ziyi in ancient China. After the events of the previous issues, Inspector Oh is still suffering from amnesia, but that won’t stop him and Ziyi from their journey. The pair go to a neighboring valley to investigate an estate, but instead of ghosts and demons, they find an elderly couple and their young daughter Yunu. To learn the secrets hidden within the estate, they must first find out why Yunu is so eager to see the exorcists leave? This series is created by brother Matt and John Yuan, and provides a fun story that features Chinese mythology. It a great addition to any tween graphic library.

John Blake 1Adventures Of John Blake Volume 1 Mystery Of The Ghost Ship – Scholastic’s graphic novel imprint, Graphix, debuts a new tween series by sci-fi writer Philip Pullman. John Blake, the son of a scientist and a mathematical genius in his own right, is trapped in the mists of time after his father’s time experiment goes wrong. He and the crew, sailors also lost in time, rescue a shipwrecked girl, Serena. John wants to return Serena to her own time, but to do so means putting them in danger from Dahlberg Corporation and its ambitious leader who has plans for the world far greater and more terrible than anyone has realized. Only John, Serena and the crew know Dahlberg’s true intentions and hold the power to stop him, but he is hot on their trail. Originally serialized in Britain’s Phoenix weekly comic, this first volume has been collected for American audience of all ages to enjoy.
