The Picks:

Herocat Midnight v2 1Hero Cats Midnight Over Stellar City Volume 2 #1 – Action Lab Entertainment gives Stellar City’s aloof detective cat his second solo series. Midnight, the loner of the Hero Cats, has his claws full as he is forced to deal with the fallout of a prison break at the Taurus County Jail. Rounding up the criminals may be more than the Claws of Justice can handle alone, but with the help of fellow Hero Cat Cassiopeia, they might just have a chance. Hero Cats is a terrific series, and Midnight is a great character, especially when he plays off his fellow Hero Cats. It continues to be a must for graphic novel collections.

Misfit City 1Misfit City #1 – BOOM Studios!’s BOOM Box imprint takes readers on an adventure of a lifetime. Cannon Cove, Oregon’s only claim to fame is that it was the location where a cult kids’ adventure movie from the 80s was filmed. Wilder and her friends spend their days dealing with tourists and fighting boredom in the otherwise quiet town. Their discovery of a centuries-old pirate map drawn by someone named Black Mary sets them on the trail of some real adventure in their tiny town! Written by screenplay writer Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and inspired by the town where the 80s cult classic Goonies was filmed, this series has the potential to be a rollicking ride!
