The Picks:

Amazing Crafty Cat 1Amazing Crafty Cat GN – First Second introduces a new series about a little girl who can craft her way out of any situation. It’s Birdie’s birthday, and she’s planned the perfect day with panda-riffic cupcakes for everyone in her class. But disaster strikes on the way to school when she trips and falls. The only way Birdie can save the day is to transform into her alter ego, the Amazing Crafty Cat! In this guise, she fears nothing: not sticky paws, paper cuts, or even Anya the class bully! From Charise Mericle Harper, the author of Just Grace and Fashion Kitty, this volume is the first in a trilogy for young readers to enjoy.

Disney Manga Belles Tale Disney Manga Beauty And The Beast Volume 1-2 Belle’s Tale/The Beast’s Tale – Tokyopop delves deeper into the story of the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast with this new two part series. These book tells the same story, but from the different perspectives of the lead characters Belle and The Beast. Belle’s Tale explores her imprisonment in The Beast’s castle and how she unravels the mysteries of the castle, while The Beast’s Tale gives insight into what The Beast was thinking as he interacts for the first time with someone who can see beyond his monstrous appearance. This original manga gives a unique and interesting perspective on a beloved and classic tale, and makes a great addition to any graphic novel shelf.
