The Picks:
Gods And Thunder Old Norse Myths GN – The weird, wild world of Norse mythology comes alive in this new graphic novel from Capstone Publishing. The original Viking tales of Asgard, Thor, Loki, Odin, and Baldur are filled with sibling rivalry, ancient prophecies, and epic battles. Young readers who crave adventure will love the stories of gods and thunder, brothers and betrayal, death and rebirth. Whether it was Vikings or Marvel’s Cinematic Universe that has sparked the interest in Norse myths, this is a great place to start reading more about them.
My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic #50 – IDW Publishing celebrates My Little Pony’s 50th issue with a fan favorite villain. This issue closes out the story arc “Chaos Theory,” featuring the villain Discord. He has achieved a new form, Accord, and after the Elements of Harmony prove ineffective, he hypnotizes Princesses Twilight Sparkle and Luna. Princess Celestia and the rest of the ponies must flee Canterlot, but all hope is not lost as their final gambit rests in Starlight Glimmer’s hoofs. The My Little Pony Friendship is Magic comic has had a great run so far, expanding the universe and developing not just the Mane 6 but the supporting characters as well. May it get 50 more issues!
