The Picks:
Batman ’66 Meets Wonder Woman ’77 #1 – DC Comics continues the campy crossovers for Batman ‘66. Batman tries to stop Catwoman from stealing a mysterious book for Ra’s al Ghul but ends up strolling down memory lane to his childhood fight against actual Nazis and his first encounter with one of the greatest heroes the world has ever known: Wonder Woman! Having teamed up with some of the best known crime fighters of the 60s, Batman ‘66 moves into a new decade to get down and boogie with Wonder Woman ‘77. These crossovers are a great way to feed parents’ nostalgia while introducing kids to to some terrific characters they might otherwise pass by.
Voltron Legendary Defender Volume 1 TP – Lion Forge brings Dreamworks’ take on Voltron to the realm of comics. The life of Coran, Princess Allura’s majordomo, is in danger from an ancient enemy. The team will have to fight mountain monsters, space dragons, and brain-sucking mushrooms to find the Yalexian pearl. It will take all of the team’s brains and brawn—and learning a few lessons along the way—to to save Coran. This latest incarnation of Voltron has garnered a following among both old fans and new, and is a great addition to any graphic novel shelf.
