The Picks:

jem-and-misfits-1Jem And The Misfits #1 – IDW Publishing releases their first Jem and the Holograms spin-off series. The Misfits have hit rock bottom. They have lost their label and no one will touch them in the music business. To get back into the spotlight, they must consider the worst case scenario, a Misfits Reality TV Show, which can either get them back on top—or tear them apart forever. Fans of Jem and the Holograms’ rivals finally get a series of their own as well as their origin story!

complete-chi-4Complete Chi’s Sweet Home Volume 4 TP – Vertical Comics wraps up the Chi’s Sweet Home saga. In these final three volumes, Chi has some serious choices to make as she comes close to being reunited with her mother and moving to a new home. This series, which started out cute and light, managed to slip in some serious issues and crank the emotion up to eleven. This last volume is the cherry topper for a fantastic series.

My fourth grader and the college kids are addicted to graphic novels. I enjoy them to a point, but a lot of people I know are not getting on this new reading trend. What do you think?
