The Picks:

reggie-and-me-1Reggie And Me #1 – The reboots at Archie Comics continues. This time it’s Reggie Mantle stepping into the spotlight. In the eyes of Reggie and his best friend, the dog Vader, he is loved, revered, admired, and adored throughout Riverdale. The rest of Riverdale might have something to say to the contrary. But nothing can keep this master prankster down; not Veronica throwing a big party the same night as his, nor the girl of his dreams, Midge, dating star football player Moose. Anyone who dares compete with him will have to pay the piper. Archie has done a great job of re-imagining their classic characters. This series will be no different.

storyteller-giants-1Jim Henson’s The Storyteller Giants #1 – BOOM! Studios returns to the world of the Storyteller with new stories inspired by folklore from around the world. This collection of mythic tales features Giants, and starts with a re-imagining of the Japanese tale “The Peach’s Son.” A couple finds a baby inside a giant peach. They raise him as their own son, but he is never accepted by their village. But when the village is overrun by evil beings, the giant will take a chance to become a hero and prove himself to the community he calls home. These collections are not only a lot of fun but also introduce tales from different cultures to readers of all ages.
