The Picks:
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 2016 Annual #1 – BOOM! Studios pulls together an all-star cast of creators for their first Power Rangers annual. This issue features over forty pages of short stories that range from revealing the origin of the villain Goldar to exploring what would happen if Bulk and Skull were Rangers. Creators Terry Moore of Strangers in Paradise, Rob Guillory of Chew, and James Kochalka of Monkey vs Robot, among others, come together to show their love for this iconic 1990s series.Fans old and new will find a lot to love in this collection from so many great creators.
Atomic Robo And The Temple Of Od #1 – IDW Publishing’s Creator Vision event brings out a new Atomic Robo adventure. It is 1938, and Atomic Robo is sent to investigate a viral weapon that is being developed in Japan that will rival even Tesla’s lightning weapon designs. In a globe-hopping adventure, Atomic Robo must once again save the day with the help of Jack Tarot, secret government agencies, moon men, magical arctic circle elves, jet-lagged aliens, elderly rights activists, youngling laborers, and the manifestation of human hope! Just that list of characters should be enough to get readers to pick up this book, but a robot protagonist and a lot of explosions certainly won’t hurt either.
