Backstagers #1 – BOOM!m Studios’ BOOM Box debuts a series for all ages about finding a place to fit in. When his mother gets a new job, Jory transfers to the private, all-boys school St. Genesius. Checking out clubs, he joins the drama club, helping out the stage crew. He thinks it’ll be a lot of fetching props and getting splinters. But the stage crew has a secret; there is a door backstage that leads to different worlds! Jory is about the learn the real magic of the stage. Backstagers feels like Lumberjanes with boys and definitely deserves a look.
Disney Manga Stitch Volume 1 GN – Tokyopop continues their releases of translated Disney manga. The troublemaker alien Stitch is back in his own series. Instead of landing in Hawaii, Project 626 lands on a fictional Japanese island near Okinawa. He meets Yuna, a young girl who’s skillful at karate, and lands himself in a whole new set of misadventures. This new take on Stitch’s tale with a Japanese flair is the perfect series for Stitch fans and readers of all ages.
