The Picks:

Marvel Tsum Tsum 1Marvel Tsum Tsum #1 – Marvel brings the stacking toy sensations into their comic universe. A crate of Tsum Tsums on their way to the Collector falls to Earth and is found by a small group of teens in Brooklyn. But when these cute and cuddly creatures see superheroes Iron Man, Spider-Man, and the rest of the Avengers in action, they decide to join in the battle by copying not only the heroes’ likenesses, but their powers as well! The adventure that ensues is not to be missed! If you don’t know what Tsum Tsums are, think pill shaped beanie babies that can be stacked. They might seem like an odd addition to the Marvel Universe, but fans of the toys and lighter comic stories will enjoy this series.

March 3March Volume 3 GN – Top Shelf brings this story of the Civil Rights Movement to a stunning conclusion. This volume covers the last few years before the confrontation in Selma, Alabama, that starts and ends this trilogy. John Lewis, now the chair of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, continues the fight with innovative projects such as the Freedom Vote, Mississippi Freedom Summer, and a televised battle for the soul of the Democratic Party. But opposition from white supremacists and strategic disputes inside the movement threaten their progress even as they head to Alabama to risk everything in a historic showdown that will shock the world. This series is just as relevant today, if not more so. It is a must read for everyone.
