The Picks:
DC Super Hero Girls Volume 1 Finals Crisis TP – DC Comics releases a companion comic to their action figure line. It’s a lot of work going to Super Hero High, where even the tests are super-tough! Students are tested on not just math, science and literature, but also flying and using super powers. Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Bumblebee, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Katana, and Poison Ivy are studying hard so as to avoid catching the eye of Principal Waller, who can hand out detention faster than a speeding bullet, when they are each abducted by a mysterious villain. The girls must outsmart their captors, save Gotham City, and still pass their finals. Super Hero Girls has really resonated with young fans, so it’s great to see DC supporting it with a book they can enjoy.
Dream Jumper Volume 1 Nightmare Escape – Graphix releases a new graphic novel co-written by actor Greg Grunberg. Ben has a problem: His dreams are plagued with nightmares, but he can jump into other people’s dreams. When an evil dream-monster starts preventing his friends from waking, Ben know he has to help them, but how can he fight a monster that know his way around the ever-changing landscape of the mind? Enter a talking rabbit-companion who has a mysterious past and will help him defeat the monster and save his friends, if he can figure out how to use the power with him. Dream Jumper has the fun, adventure, and suspense that kids love.
