The Picks:
Looney Tunes #231 – A classic Looney Tunes cartoon gets a revisit at DC Comics. Daffy Duck get meta as he takes on the comic book artist drawing his story. He is erased and painted into some of the most unusual places and costumes with the very panels of the comic book. Does someone have it out for Daffy, or is just some good natured ribbing? Only the artist knows for sure. This story is very similar to a classic Looney Tunes cartoon, Duck Amuck, where Daffy is tormented by an unseen animator. The original cartoon was great, and hopefully this issue can live up to it. Check out our preview and see for yourself!
Anna And Froga Out And About HC – Drawn and Quarterly continues the non-adventures of Anouk Ricard’s five friends. In this fifth volume, Anna, Froga, Ron, Christopher, and Bubu decide to forego shopping malls and make their own gift for one another for Christmas. Bubu tries to get in touch with his zen side at a retreat. A vampire with exceptional Scrabble skills moves in next door, and the five friends embark on an unforgettable trip to Paris, bickering, needling, cajoling, and continuing their honest friendship all along the way. There is more to enjoy with Anna and her animal friends in their fun, cute stories.
