This Week’s Comics: Elf Cat Sisters

Escape the first heat wave of the summer with Dad and some of the new releases from this week’s list. Archie Comics’ Jughead returns with a new story arc. Elf Cat In Love GN – Retrofit Comics releases a new James Kochalka graphic novel as their first hardback. Elf Cat, an incredibly  conceited adventurer, goes on a quest for the Ice Sword with his magical friend Tennis Ball. Along the way they will face dragons, magical hot dogs, and snowflake princesses. But the most perilous part may be confronting their feelings. While love can be found in many places, the most difficult place to see it is when it’s right in front of you. James Kochalka has a long history of great graphic novels for everyone to enjoy, and this new one will be no different.

Sisters, Volume 1: Like A Family HC – Papercutz brings another European series to the US. Maureen and her older sister Wendy are both full of personality and have a strong sense of independence. So while they may love each other very much, it can also make it difficult for them to get along, such as when the younger Maureen wants to hang out with her older sister, which is embarrassing for Wendy. Despite these odds, they still manage to get through each day without killing each other…so far! This series features great tales about sisters and the universal problems all siblings face.
