The Picks:
Hollow Fields And The Perfect Cog GN – Seven Seas returns to the boarding school that is dedicated to raising the next generation of mad scientists and evil geniuses! Hollow Fields is now free of Miss Weaver and her reign of terror and now has a new set of problems, foremost of which is that they have no money! If the school can’t scrape together the cash to pay its staff or maintain its grounds, it will be shut down by the Board of Unprincipled Mad Science Education. Lucy comes to the rescue again, this time with the idea of the school participating in the inter-school mad science competition and winning the hefty cash prize that goes with it. It’s mad science fair time! Hollow Fields was a hit with tween and older readers, and creator Madeleine Rosca was one of four winners presented with the first ever International Manga Award in Japan.
Doctor Who The Fourth Doctor #1 – Titan Comics brings back one of the most popular Doctor-Companion pairings for their own miniseries. The Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith return to Victorian England where they stumble on alien Scryclops stalking the streets, a house of the blind controlled by a mysterious woman who also commands a hidden army, and terrible screams from prehistory with a hunger that cannot be sated—not even by jelly babies! The Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith have become icons for Doctor Who in the US, and now a new generation can find out why with this new series!
