The Picks:

Steven Universe and Crystal Gems 1 Steven Universe And The Crystal Gems #1 – Steven Universe returns to BOOM! Comics with a new mini series. When Steven takes the Gems out camping, it’s the perfect opportunity to sit by the campfire and tell them spooky stories. But the Gems don’t give him much of a reaction. Instead, they tell him a spooky story of their own about a monster who turns bad Gems into glass and shatters them. Pearl assures Steven it’s just a story until people around Beach City start turning up frozen in glass! Steven Universe continues to be popular with both kids and adults, hitting its fans right in the feels, so it’s not surprising that Steven and the Gems are back in comic form to keep it up.

Saber Rider 1Saber Rider And The Star Sheriffs #1 – Lion Forge brings back another classic 80s animated series. It is the distant future, and mankind has colonized the far reaches of the universe. Protecting it all falls to the Star Sheriffs, an elite law enforcement agency. When a mysterious race known as the Outriders begin attacking worlds with advanced technology, the legendary Saber Rider steps up to stop them. But the revelation of an Outrider sympathizer within the Star Sheriffs sets Saber Rider, bounty hunter Colt, and Chief Weapons Designer April Eagle on his trail. Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs is being brought back by writer Mairghread Scott, who also successfully brought to life Windblade, the first fan-created Transformer. You can expect good things for this series as well.
