This Week’s Comics: Grumpy Bat-Mite

Even though the comics wrap up, the stories never end in this week’s new releases. Action Lab Entertainment finishes the mini-series Hero Cats Midnight Over Stellar City at #3 with a showdown between Midnight and Galaxy Man, while Marvel Comics completes Marvel Universe Avengers Assemble Season Two at #16 with a climatic battle against Thanos. For the more light-hearted inclined, there’s Teen Titans Go! #14, which features neither big battles nor an ending.

The Picks:

Bat-Mite TP – DC Comics ties up the Dark Imp in this collection of the comic mini series. Bat-Mite, exiled from his own world, uses the opportunity to help out the heroes of the DC Universe. He did put Batman on the map (or so he thinks), so the careers of other heroes could certainly use his help as well. Hawkman, Booster Gold, and the Blue Beetle are among those who could use the boost that only Bat-Mite can give them, if he doesn’t drive them crazy first. This trade collects all six issues of the mini-series as well as the “Sneak Peak” story that ran in Convergence; Supergirl: Matrix #2.

Grumpy Cat And Pokey #1 – Cat lovers rejoice! Dynamite Entertainment has brought back the grumpiest of cats with her brother, the cheeriest of kittens, for a whole new series. Grumpy Cat is back along with her happy-go-lucky brother Pokey to bring laughs and sass to comic books once again. Join in the fun as Pokey tries to inspire Grumpy to write poetry with a walk through the woods all while she tries tries to rain on his parade in the first of three stories in this issue. Cat lovers and kids of all ages will laugh themselves silly.
