The Picks:
Bunny Vs Monkey GN – Graphix debuts a new series for young readers from British weekly comic The Phoenix. Monkey was meant to go into space, but a problem with the flight sends him instead to a peaceful forest, where he decides it is a new world. But Monkey is a mean, selfish, noisy, bullying little fur-bag and claims it for his own, decreeing that all other animals should be banished. Monkey is confronted by other forest animals such as Bunny, Pig, and Weenie the squirrel, who are not happy with his declaration. With the help of inventions created by a skunk with a underground lab, Monkey takes on the forest animals in a series of hilarious, off-the-wall encounters. This series has short, bite-sized chapters and cute art to easily entertain and hold the attention of emerging readers.
Marvel Universe Deadpool And Wolverine Digest TP – Marvel bundles up a collection of their two most popular heroes/anti-heroes. Deadpool gets two adventures as he gets himself in a confrontation with the Avengers, and then shows Spider-Man what a day in the life of Deadpool is like. Then Wolverine gets his hands on Spidey with a lesson of his own to teach the web-slinger, and a solo story that shows what he was up to before he first tangled with the Hulk. A lot of kids will no doubt be disappointed by not being able to see the new Deadpool movie out this month. Maybe this collection can soften the blow a little.
