This Week’s Comics: Salem, Betty and Veronica

It’s another week with lots to choose from! AMP! Comics for Kids has a new Peanuts collection featuring that lovable beagle Snoopy in Snoopy Contact. BOOM! Misadventures Of Salem Hyde Volume 5 Frozen Fiasco – Amulet Books lets loose another misadventure with everyone’s favorite reluctant witch. Salem’s school is putting on an ice pageant during winter break, and she is determined to be a snow angel. The only problem is that she doesn’t know how to skate. Left out of the preparations, she is stuck babysitting her neighbor’s son Fergus. But when the part of a snow angel lands in her lap, she has to figure out how to balance her responsibilities and learn to skate before the big show. With a little magic and some advice from the overanxious cat Whammy, Salem is sure she can get everything done—unless it all snowballs out of control first. Salem’s antics and Frank Cammuso’s playful art make this series perfect for young and old readers alike.

Betty And Veronica #278 – Archie Comics ends another series with a trip down Memory Lane. The Riverdale High School gym is going to be torn down, but not before one final prom dance. Betty and Veronica commemorate the momentous occasion by reminiscing about past dances—the romance, the tears, all of Archie’s awkward dance moves, all the times he made a date for the same night with both girls. It’s one “Last Dance” as the girls turn it around on Archie in this last issue of Betty and Veronica. As part of Archie Comics reboot, this long running comic is ending to make room for a new series due out in early 2016. Join the girls for this one last look at 18 years of fun and laughs.
