The Picks:
Adventure Time Fionna And Cake Card Wars #1 – BOOM! Studios brings Fionna and Cake back for their second mini-series. Cake just cannot be beat at Card Wars. Fionna knows, she’s tried, and she’s tired of getting beaten. So the pair set off in search of a real challenger. They come across some gamer slugs, and think they’ve finally found someone who can test Cake’s mettle. But since they’ve never heard of Cake, they refuse to even play with her. I love Fionna and Cake, and really enjoyed their first adventure. I’m thrilled BOOM! Studios has brought them back.
Penny Dora And The Wishing Box Volume 1 TP – The all-ages modern fairytale from Image has been collected in one book. On the day before Christmas, the young girl Penny Dora found a mysterious box on her front doorstep. It was a magical box with the power to grant wishes. But when Penny’s best friend Elizabeth uses it, nothing but trouble comes tumbling out. Penny must contend with a horde of fire-breathing dragons, oodles of monsters, at least seven dwarves, and the person now known as Princess Elizabeth in order to contain the chaos. Penny Dora is filled with fantasy and adventure, and it has a flying cat. What more could you need?
