Mouse Guard: Legends of the Guard, Volume 3, #1 – BOOM! Studios celebrates 10 years of Mouse Guard with a new collection of short stories. Return once again to the June Alley Inn to join mice of all furs and trades to take part in a storytelling contest. Hear tales of courage, adventure, and craftmanship as the storytellers try to outdo one another and compete to tell the best tale for the prize of getting their bar tab cleared. The storytellers featured in this issue are Skottie Young of Rocket Raccoon, Mark Buckingham of Fables, and Hannah Christenson of Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: The Novelization. Mouse Guard has won both the Eisner and the Harvey awards, and this new series will delight readers of all ages with more stories by some of comics’ best writers and artists.

Itty Bitty Comics Grimmiss Island #1 – Dark Horse Comics lets loose a new Itty Bitty Comics series. The Mama Woogees’ tiny island is being threatened by the Volcano Goddess. They brew up a wild concoction in their black, boiling pot and call it Grimmiss, a skull-headed little guy with a predisposition for speaking Spanish. Grimmiss is set loose to stop the Volcano Goddess, get an eye exam, learn a tough lesson in love, and stop the Tiki Monoliths. You can be sure this new, original creation by Art Baltazar and Franco will bring a smile to the lips of anyone who reads Grimmiss’s silly antics.
