The Picks:

Sisters – Graphix releases the companion to Raina Telgemeier’s best selling graphic novel Smile. While on a road trip from their home in San Francisco to a family reunion in Colorado, big sister Raina ruminates over her relationship with her younger sister Amara. Raina couldn’t wait to be a big sister, but Amara’s cranky and grouchy personality and preference to play by herself made things difficult. But the addition of a baby brother and something not seeming right with their parents makes both girls realize they have to figure out how to get along. They are sisters, after all. With humor and charm, Raina tells a story about siblings that anyone with a brother or sister can relate to, and only children can wish they could—or be glad they can’t.

Little Nemo Return To Slumberland #1 – Winsor McKay’s early 20th century strip, Little Nemo in Slumberland gets a 21st century do-over. In the Royal Palace of Sumberland, King Morpheus’ daughter selects her next playmate: Nemo! Only Nemo has no interest in being anyone’s playmate, dream or no dream! Creators Eric Shanower and Gabriel Rodriguez tell Nemo’s tale so that even if you aren’t familiar with the original strip, it is still easy to get into. Little Nemo: Return to Slumberland is a tale of magic and whimsy for all ages to enjoy.
