This Week’s Comics: LeafGreen Banana Guard

Hunker down against the weather with some new comics out this week. Writer Neil Gaiman and artist Adam Rex follow-up their bestselling children’s book Chu’s Day with Chu’s First Day of School. Nobrow Press releases a whole lot of Hilda and the… books, and Papercutz has a new Disney’s Fairies volume, adapting the new film Tinker Bell and the Secret of the Wings.

Adventure Time Banana Guard Academy #1 – It seems BOOM! Studios isn’t happy unless they have two Adventure Time comic series coming out per month. The Banana Guards are the protectors of the Candy Kingdom. There is a lot to being a Banana Guard, but being a Banana is not necessary. Root Beer Guy brings a crazy adventure as he searches the Land of Ooo for new recruits, and only the best will do! This series is written by Kent Osborne, the head writer of the Adventure Time animated series and creator of Root Beer Guy, so you know it will not only be good but will fit into the series canon. Keep up with the ever-expanding universe of Adventure Time and don’t miss this new mini-series.

Pokemon Adventures Volume 23 FireRed LeafGreen GN – Pokémon Adventures moves on to the next game as Ruby and Sapphire ends and Red and Blue return with Green joining the adventure. Green is finally about to meet her long-lost parents when they are sucked into a vortex created by a mysterious Pokémon!
