The Picks:

Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales Volume 4 Treaties Trenches Mud And Blood HC – Nathan Hale returns to tell tales about World War I. The tone of warfare in the 20th Century was set by World War I as it expanded war to a global stage, and the battles became mechanical and brutal. Nathan Hale’s namesake tells more true-life tales from the war, putting his own Hazardous Tales twist on them. Funny, informative and easy to understand, this volume is a great way to introduce this historical event, with its well-known battles and little-known secrets, to kids and adults alike. The Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales series is a great way to make history and historical events interesting and relevant to readers of all ages. This series is a must for every library.

Samurai Jack #8 – Writer Jim Zub creates a unique story without letting Jack say a single word. Featured at IDW Publishing’s Wondercon panel, this special issue is written without a word of dialogue, giving Samurai Jack character designer Andy Suriano the challenge to tell the tale through his illustrations alone. Jack, seeking some peace and quiet from the noise of the future he has been thrust into, reflects on his odyssey to return to the past, but he may not like what he finds staring back at him. Find out why a picture is worth a thousand words as Suriano shows Jack’s struggles not just with the strange world he was thrown into but also with himself.
