The Picks:
Bee And Puppycat #1 – BOOM! Studios releases a new series by fan favorite Natasha Allegri. In this quirky slice-of-life story, Bee is a girl who can’t seem to figure out life and is forever unemployed. She stumbles across the mysterious PuppyCat, a stray…something… who has a powerful secret. Following the footsteps of other magical girls like Sailor Moon, Madoka Magica, and Powerpuff Girls, Bee and PuppyCat will make fighting bad guys fun again! Bee and PuppyCat already has a big fan following and has funded a Kickstarter for a web series. Allegri is also the creator of the gender-swapped Adventure Time characters Fionna and Cake, so you know it comes from a great pedigree. Don’t miss this first issue of comedy and enchantment.
Lego Legends Of Chima Volume 1 High Risk – Papercutz brings another Lego property to comics. Chima is a world ruled by animal tribes but divided by battle. On one side are the noble lions and their allies; on the other are the evil crocodiles and their allies. The source of their conflict is the mineral CHI, which can be used to create or destroy. There are four stories in this first volume, the first featuring Laval, prince of the Lions and his friend Eris, a warrior of the Eagle Tribe. They engage in a training race on their Speedorz and stumble upon a Gorilla convoy transporting CHI that is being attacked by the Crocodiles. It’s up to Laval and Eris to help them. Legends of Chima is filled with fun and adventure that kids of any age will love.
