The Picks:

L’il Battlestar Galactica #1 – Art Baltazar strikes again, turning his pen this time on the classic Battlestar Galactica for Dynamite Entertainment. All of your favorite classic Battlestar Galactica characters are back as kids! Apollo, Starbuck, Boomer, and even Muffet are here under the supervision of daddy Adama as the search for Earth continues. Burning questions are addressed such as how old do you need to be to ride a colonial viper? Is there a height requirement? What does Baltar have to say in all this? And where do Baby Cylons come from? Fans of the classic Battlestar Galactica will love this silly take on series, and it will convert kids into new fans as well.

Disney Kingdoms Seekers Of The Weird #1 – A Disney legend returns in the pages of this new series from Marvel. A proposed but never built museum for Disneyland serves as the backdrop for this new adventure series. Maxwell and Melody must unite with their mysterious and swashbuckling uncle in order to save their parents, who have been kidnapped. It’s a race through the strange and dangerous Museum of the Weird to save not just their family but also the world from an evil secret society. This actually sounds like a clever way to use some Disney property without seeming too commercial. A lot of creativity had to go into not just building the story but fleshing out the Museum from designs from nearly 50 years ago. It’s definitely worth a look.
