This Week’s Comics: Goddess of Adventure

Adventure Time: The Flip Side #1 – BOOM! Studios releases another Adventure Time mini-series. This time, Finn and Jake find themselves without a quest or a princess to rescue. With a little too much time on their hands, they go to the “Adventurer’s Posting Board” to find one. The adventure they grab turns out to be a little more complicated than they first imagined. It may be the most complicated adventure they’ve ever been on! Turning the “Freaky Friday” trope on its head, this new mini-series is like one you’ve never seen before. Letting Paul Tobin and Colleen Coover, the team behind the Eisner-Award winning Bandette, loose in the Land of Ooo can only be a good thing for Adventure Time fans.

Olympians Volume 6 Aphrodite Goddess Of Love – Love is in the air as First Second releases the next volume in their Olympians series. This time, the spotlight shines on Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. Starting with Aphrodite’s dramatic birth, O’Connor tackles stories of her doting son Eros, Pygmalion, and her role in the Trojan War. O’Connor’s thoroughly researched, wonderfully drawn and incredibly accessible storytelling makes this series a must for every library.
