The Picks:
KISS Kids #1 – IDW continues to grow its all ages line with another title both kids and parents can share. Join Li’l Demon, Starchild, Catkid and Spacey, the KISS Kids gang, as they go on mini adventures in their crazy town. Mysterious boot eaters, babysitters, and evil principals are among the adventures these little costumed maniacs have to deal with in this first issue. This looks like a really fun book. Each story is just a few pages, and they stand alone well, though they can also connect for longer story lines. The character designs are cute, with each KISS member being easily recognizable while still having that chibi-ness that will make them appealing to younger readers. I highly recommend this title both for KISS fans and for anyone who just wants something cute and fun to read.
Power Rangers Megaforce Volume 3 Panic In The Parade – Papercutz takes on the next ranger team in their Power Rangers series. The Mega Rangers is the series after Super Samurai, and it introduces a new group of kids as the rangers, with new powers and new enemies, this time ecology-themed, determined to take over the Earth. This first volume featuring this new team has two stories. First, trusting pink ranger Emma goes up against Vrak while the others face the toxic Wastaro, who is made of trash. In the second story, Black ranger Jake goes up again Vrak at a video game expo. I liked the first two volumes of Power Rangers Samurai, so I expect good things from this volume. Even though it’s a new team, I didn’t care for the original, so whatever Megaforce does can only be an improvement.
