The Picks:
Atomcat – Digital Manga Publishing releases another Tezuka classic. Bullied at school, Tsugio’s one refuge is reading the comic book Astro Boy with his dad. When he finds an abandoned kitten, he convinces his family to keep it by naming it after his robot hero. But a strange encounter with honeymooning aliens gives the cat not just the ability to speak, but all of Astro Boy’s powers as well! Thus starts the adventures of Tsugio and Earth’s tiniest hero, as they fight raging fires, awakened mummies and more! This single volume title combines two great things, Astro Boy and cats, to create some great stories for kids and adults to love. This title was the first stretch goal for DMP’s kickstarter for Unico. Backers’ love of all things Tezuka made this title available to all!
Marvel Universe Wolverine Digest TP – Marvel releases some of the all-ages adventures of their most popular mutant! This trade features four different stories from Wolverine’s long history. Before he was Wolverine: X-men, he was Logan: Secret Agent. In a story from before he became an X-man, Logan must stop a town from being covered in metal by using his brain instead of brawn. See Wolverine’s first-ever appearance with an all-out brawl with the Incredible Hulk, then in a battle of a different kind, he helps Kitty Pride get with her crush, Thor, God of Thunder. Finally, Spider-Man has to follow Wolverine for a day and report on what he does. What could possibly go wrong? This title is a great collection of stories showcasing Wolverine for his younger fans to enjoy. Ranging through different times in his life and showing his isn’t all “skint” makes this a must have for tween to teen comic collections.
