The Picks:

Sesame Street I Is For Imagination #1 – Ape Entertainment brings the best known children’s TV program to comics! Chasing the clouds away from one of the best known streets in the world, all your favorites, including Elmo, Big Bird, Grover, and the Cookie Monster come together in this first issue of Sesame Street. In this issue, Elmo decides he wants to become a superhero, but he doesn’t have any powers, so it’s Super Grover to the rescue! He teaches Elmo that he can have any super power he wants, because he already has the greatest power in the world – his imagination! For decades, kids around the world have grown up to the lessons and characters of Sesame Street. Now those characters have finally come to comics, bringing their educational messages hidden in fun stories that kids love. Parents and teachers of young kids should not miss this first issue.

Croods Prequel Digest GN – Ape Entertainment continues their relationship with Dreamworks with a prequel to their next family film. The Croods was released in March and is about a family of Neanderthal cavemen searching for a new home in a fictitious prehistoric era where fanciful creatures lived. This story is a prequel to the movie, telling about an adventure that happens to Grug, Ugga, Eep, Thunk, and Gran before they go on their adventure of a lifetime! Prequels are becoming the norm for comics instead of adaptations of films, and this is a perfect example. If you enjoyed the film or want to find out more before plunking down a load of bucks for the family, this is a good way to preview it.
