The Picks:
My Little Pony Micro-Series #1 (Of 6)(Twilight Sparkle) – Because readers just can’t get enough Ponies. This series of single issues from IDW puts the spotlight on the Mane Six, starting with Twilight Sparkle. This bookworm pony becomes enthralled with a literary masterpiece. When she finds out the series was never continued, she goes on a quest to hunt down the reclusive author, Jade Singer. It will take all of Twilight Sparkle’s detective skill to find the author amidst many twists and turns. Following up quickly on the smash hit series that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has become, IDW gives fans another way to read more stories about their favorite ponies, with stories that make their personalities shine. No fan of the series, TV or comic, should pass this series up.
Young Justice #25 (Final Issue) – It is with a heavy heart that we must bid farewell to another DC Comics kid-friendly series. In this final issue, the young heroes must make their last stand against villains Kylstar and Brainiac and save not just Metropolis but the entire planet from destruction, while Deadshot finally hits his target. It is a great shame that DC has decided to end this comic as the TV series ends its run as well. The company will be down to just one superhero series for kids when Teen Titans Go! premieres. I have nothing against Teen Titans, but I don’t see why there couldn’t be room for two teams that kids could read. Give this series a strong goodbye and pick up the final issue.
