The Picks:
Alice In Wonderland HC – Rod Espinosa returns to Dark Horse with his take on another classic. It’s a familiar tale by now. The curious Alice follows a flustered white rabbit to Wonderland, a magical place where animals can talk, evil queens go on beheading sprees, and there are enough riddles to strain any logically inclined brain! There are potions to drink and cookies to eat, mad tea parties, and a Cheshire cat. Alice in Wonderland has had a resurgence recently with movies and comic adaptations. Rod Espinosa’s adaptation stands out with kid-friendly art, and he has a track record of making classics fun. Tween-Teen libraries and collections should check this volume out.
Monsters Inc The Humanween Party #1 – The cast of Monsters, Inc. returns with a brand-new story from Disney and Marvel Comics. Monstropolis’ version of Halloween, Humanween, where monsters dress up as humans, is fast approaching. A party is held every year, and this year it’s at Mike and Sulley’s home. And then Mike goes into panic mode when he learns his mother plans to drop in unexpectly the day after the party! It’s more monster madness with everyone from Monstropolis, which will make fans of all ages of the Monsters, Inc. world happy.
