The Picks:
Cut The Rope Special Delivery GN – Ape Entertainment is sweet on video games! Their latest adaptation is Cut the Rope, a physics-based game for handhelds that has the player trying to drop pieces of candy into a cute little green monster’s mouth. Evan Coulton’s life changes when a plain and uninteresting box is left on his doorstep, with contents that are anything but! An adorable small green creature with an endless appetite for sweets, starts turning Evan’s kitchen, and his life, upside down with his knack for getting into serious trouble. This is a problem for the thirteen-year-old, as up until now, tying his shoes was all the trouble Evan could handle! Because this game is available on so many platforms (iOS, Android, Nintendo DS, Microsoft Xbox, etc.), kids will no doubt already be familiar with Om Nom and his sweet tooth, and curious about the little creatures past.
Roger Langridge’s Snarked #10 – The critical acclaim has been doubled! After escaping the kingdom and crossing the high seas, our unlikely heroes have finally rescued Scarlett and Rusty’s father, the Red King. However, the King doesn’t know who Scarlett is and refuses to leave Snark island. The Walrus and McDunk will have to figure out a way to save the royal family’s happy ending, all while the Gryphon is bearing down on them! Snarked has been a hit with adults and kids alike, and now Roger Langridge’s work has been recognized by receiving not only the Harvey Award, but also an Eisner Award, the Oscar Award of the Comics Industry! Pick up an issue and find out why.
