The Picks:
Avatar The Last Airbender Volume 2 The Promise Part 2 TP – The world of Aang and the last airbender continues in this second volume. Aang and Katara continue to work for peace between the Fire Lord Zuko and Earth King Kuei over Fire Nation colonies with the Earth Nation. The current impasse threatens to plunge the world back into war. Meanwhile, Sokka and Toph try to prepare her hapless first class of metalbending students defend their school again a rival class of firebenders! With the Legend of Korra now showing on TV, the hunger for more Last Airbender stories will grow, and these new stories from Dark Horse will fill that gap perfectly.
Superman Family Adventures #1 – The creative team behind Tiny Titans is back with a new series. Superman takes center stage along with his family of Kyptonian and humans. Supergirl, Superboy, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and Fuzzy the Kypto Mouse (?!) join in the battle against some of Superman’s greatest enemies, in some of the oddest jobs! Lex Luthor works as an intern at the Daily Planet. General Zod owns a Hot Dog cart. Bizarro is hanging out at the Fortress of Solitude. Is this all part of a diabolical plan to take over the world? After having Batman in the spotlight for so long, it’s nice to see DC’s iconic superhero being made available for the younger readers. And with the team of Tiny Titans taking the reins, you know this will be a great book. Pick it up for the superhero-in-training in your life!
