Popeye # 1 – Another classic character is brought back to life through comics. After 30 years’ hiatus, Popeye the Sailor Man is back to entertain a new generation of kids. In this first of four issues, Olive Oyl and her brother talk Popeye into taking them to an island where another mysterious Jeep has been sighted. But can they make it past the pirate Bluto? Written by Roger Landridge, an Eisner Award winner and darling of all ages comics, this title will not only be entertaining to kids and adults but also true to the characters. This is a not-to-miss book!
Marvel Universe Ultimate Spider-Man #1 – Spider-Man jumps from the TV screen to the pages of his own comic series! This newest incarnation of Spider-Man has Peter back in high school and still learning to use his powers for good. Good thing Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. are there to help him. And did I forget to mention he’s not the only teen superhero at his high school? With the creators of the TV series working on the comic, the tie-in will be well done and will give fans both old and new a comic they know they will enjoy.
