Preview: The Avalon Chronicles
If you’re lucky enough to be at Emerald City Comic Con this weekend, you could pick up a copy of The Avalon Chronicles at the Oni Press booth; otherwise, you’ll have to wait a few weeks for this delightful teen-fantasy graphic novel by Christina Weir and Nunzio DeFilippis, illustrated by Emma Vieceli. Brigid Alverson, the editor of the Good Comics for Kids blog, has been reading comics since she was 4. She has an MFA in printmaking and has worked as a book editor, a newspaper reporter, and assistant to the mayor of a small city. Is this a new edition of the original “Once in a Blue Moon” book published in 2004? I loved that story and always wanted to see it continue.

It is a relaunch of that series. And it’s going to go forward now. Volume 2 is being illustrated and Volume 3 is being written.
