Shugo Chara Chan Volume 3 GN, $10.99

The Picks:

Scooby-Doo Where Are You Volume 1 TP – Scooby and the gang are back in an all new trade! Last year DC rebooted their long running Scooby Doo comic series to return it to the roots of the original TV series that started it all. This trade is the first collection of the first six comics from that reboot. Story wise, nothing really changed, as it continues to follow the mystery-solving antics of Scooby, Shaggy, Fred, Velma and Daphne, as they travel around in the Mystery Machine van, getting into trouble and solving crimes. Scooby Doo was how I introduced my youngest daughter to comics. It’s a great gateway series as well as being just plain fun. This trade is a perfect addition to elementary school libraries and young reader collections.

Dorothy Of Oz Prequel #1 – IDW sets up the new movie set to come out this summer. The Wizard of Oz has been a children’s classic for decades, and now Dorothy and her friends are returning to the big screen with a new animated movie. Building on the world created in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Frank L. Baum, the movie tells the tale of Dorothy’s return to the Land of Oz. But what necessitates her return? Find out in this new mini series that stars the classic Oz characters the Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man. See the events that lead up to the movie, and witness the rise of the Jester! Oz fans young and old will want to pick up this issue.
