March 9, 2012 by Lori Henderson   Leave a Comment

This week’s list is only slightly better than last, but it’s a good week to be a manga reader. Vertical has the next volume of the adventures of the adorable kitten Chi in Chi’s Sweet Home. If flying dogs are more your cup of tea, then check out the second volume of Fluffy Fluffy Cinnamoroll. And Pokemon fans can get the next dose of the newest series with the fifth volume of Black and White.

The List:

ACTION LAB ENTERTAINMENT
Monsters Are Just Like Us GN, $12.95 ^^AA list^^

ARCHIE COMIC PUBLICATIONS
Betty And Veronica Double Digest #199, $3.99

DARK HORSE COMICS
Star Wars The Clone Wars The Enemy Within TP , $7.99

DC COMICS
Scooby-Doo Where Are You #19, $2.99

MARVEL COMICS
Toy Story #1 (Of 4), $2.99 ^^AA list^^

VERTICAL
Chi’s Sweet Home Volume 8 GN, $13.95

VIZ MEDIA

Fluffy Fluffy Cinnamoroll Volume 2 GN, $7.99
Pokemon Black And White Volume 5 GN, $4.99

The Picks:

Toy Story #1 – Marvel releases its first mini-series based on the popular Pixar movie. Buster, Andy’s new puppy, loves to play with toys. But all that chewing and shaking doesn’t thrill Woody, Buzz and the gang. They have to find a way to control the playful pooch, or else they will all be in a world of hurt! This comic series serves as a bridge to the second movie, where Buster was shown to be friends with the toys, and lets fans see how that relationship began. Kids of all ages and fans of the Toy Story franchise (often one and the same) will enjoy this mini-series.

Monster Are Just Like Us – Action Lab Entertainment makes a splash with another all ages title. Monsters aren’t all that different from us. They have to deal with the same kind of everyday, mundane tasks we do. Whether picking up dog poop or watering the lawn at home or not clearing the paper jam from the copier at work, Monsters are just like us! Join artist extraordinaire Super Ugly as he debunks everything you knew about things that go bump in the night. This book is written like a storybook, with short text accompanied by fun pictures. Both kids and adults, and even adults reading to kids, will enjoy this graphic novel.
