The Picks:
Good Vs Evil Alien Snow GN – Capstone creates a unique reading experience with their new series. A young boy visits a strange antique shop one winter day. The creepy shopkeeper tries to interest the boy in his personal snow globe collection, but the boy isn’t interested. Instead, the boy finds himself trapped in one of the globes—and added to the shopkeeper’s collection! The Good Vs Evil series is structured very differently than most books. Each book tells two stories. One is shown in red and the other in blue, and each gives the perspective of the good and evil characters in the story. Each story can be read separately, in different sequences or all together, to create a new reading experience every time. This sounds like a great way to engage difficult readers. Elementary libraries and collections should look into this series.
Chick And Chickie In Play All Day – Toon books entertains young readers with a new title from children’s book author Claude Ponti. Chick and Chickie are friends who love to play in their own way. Whether it’s scaring each other silly or tickling the letter A, the funny antics of these fluffy friends are sure to entertain! Young readers will enjoy spotting all the witty side jokes and other details in the deceptively simply art, while the vetted vocabulary will allow them to quickly start reading on their own. Elementary libraries and beginning readers collections will want to add this book.
