All ages comics and manga for 12/21/11

December 23, 2011 by Lori Henderson   Leave a Comment

With Christmas less than a week away, publishers don’t seem to think the comic shop is a good last minute stop. But comics do fit well into Christmas stockings, just in case you need a good stuffer. Archie Comics releases a new issue of Betty and Veronica, which has Veronica matching her business sense against Mother Nature. Bongo Comics does something interesting, with an unusual cover by Sergio Aragones and stories inside to explain it, in the newest Simpsons Comics. And for the tiny tots, pick up the new Tiny Titans trade.

The List:

ARCHIE COMICS
Archie & Friends #159, $2.99
Betty & Veronica Friends Double Digest #220, $3.99
Betty & Veronica #257, $2.99
Sonic Universe #35, $2.99

BONGO COMICS
Sergio Aragones Funnies #6, $3.50
Simpsons Comics #185, $2.99

DC COMICS
Cartoon Network 2-In-1 Ben 10 Ultimate Alien Generator Rex TP, $12.99 ^^AA Pick^^
Tiny Titans #47, $2.99
Tiny Titans Volume 6 The Treehouse And Beyond TP, $12.99

The Pick:

Cartoon Network 2-In-1 Ben 10 Ultimate Alien Generator Rex TP – Two popular action shows share the spotlight in this new trade from DC. Ben 10 and Generator Rex are Cartoon Network shows that are popular with kids, and their comic adventures have been running in the DC anthology comic series Cartoon Action Pack. This title collects stories from several issues featuring the super teens. Ben 10 introduces the new Ultimate Alien arc with new aliens and villains for Ben to fight. Generator Rex looks at the beginnings of the teen with the ability to control nanites and create tech to fight villains and help people infected by other nanites, known as EVOs. Both titles are popular with both boys and girls, and while filled with lots of action, they also have the boys dealing with teen problems their readers can relate to. This book is a great addition to any library shelf or under the Christmas tree.
