The Picks:
Scrooge And Santa GN – A Christmas classic gets updated for the 21st Century. Ebenezer Scrooge, a young CEO who is also the world’s richest man, has everything, and wants more! He concocts a plan to kidnap Santa Claus and take over his toy business, intending to charge parents the world over for Santa’s toys. The ghosts of past present and future visit him on Christmas Eve, but he doesn’t listen. It takes the FBI seizing his assets and trying to arrest him to make Scrooge reconsider. With the help of his assistant, Bonnie Cratchit, and the Christmas ghosts, Scrooge must get Santa back to the North Pole in time to save Christmas! This new take on an old classic is filled with fun and adventure, and the art has an animated feel to it, making it that much more appealing to kids. Kids of any age will enjoy this title.
Salt Water Taffy Volume 5 Caldera’s Revenge Part 2 GN – Jack and Benny’s first multi-volume adventure ends here. Jack is a prisoner aboard the ghost ship Nutmeg, and it’s up to Benny and Angus to rescue him. Benny unravels the mystery of The Hidden History of Chowder Bay with the help of an old friend, but will he be in time to save Jack from Caldera? This title has been really popular with kids and critics alike, so it’s kind of sad to see it finally come to an end. One can only hope that is really is the “first” of many multi-volume adventures with Jack and Benny.
