The Picks:
MAD Presents Spy Vs Spy The Top Secret Files – The Cold War lives on! The double-cross and deceit between these two spies, one dressed in black, the other in white, continues in this new edition that spotlights the feature from MAD Magazine. These short strips featuring two spies who are always trying to one-up each other are funny and timeless. I used to read these in MAD when I was a kid, and now my daughter watches them on TV. No matter the medium, the never ending battle inspired by the Cold War continues to entertain and bring a smile to kids and adults alike. This book is a great addition to any library.
Sybil The Backpack Fairy Volume 1: Nina – Papercutz introduces a different kind of fairy you won’t find in Never-Never Land. Things aren’t going so well for Nina. Her single mom doesn’t have much time for her, especially when split with her younger brother. And at middle school, the nasty cliques put her down. The arrival of a magical fairy named Sybil changes all that! Popping out of her backpack, Sybil helps Nina with her problems, until demons from Sybil’s magical world who followed her here start to cause some damage of their own! My youngest daughter loved the young reader “Fairies” series (Pets, Weather, Jewels, etc), and this new series sounds like it will be just as entertaining.
