Little Jackie Lantern – IDW brings some Halloween fun for the little ones. Little Jackie Lantern has been afraid of Halloween since he was two-years-old, and he not looking forward to the haunted holiday again this year, with all the ghosts, ghouls and witches to come. Will Little Jackie finally find the courage to go out trick-or-treating with his friends, or will he do what he always does, run home frightened? Young readers will enjoy this tale of a little boy finding his bravery and learning how fun Halloween can be, and maybe they can find some inspiration of their own from Little Jackie. This would be a good addition to any elementary school library.

I Love Kawaii – Let the cuteness overload begin! Kawaii is a Japanese word meaning cute that was adopted by schoolgirls in the 1970s to describe all cute things. Since then it has become a trend of visual aesthetics and is now a recognizable art form practiced by artists all over the world, with Hello Kitty being the most famous. Filled with full-page images, this book holds an international collection of the most popular adorable, hilarious and sometimes dark Kawaii art being made today. Along with the images, Charuca, a Kawaii artist herself, has short descriptions of the artist and her feelings about the work. Kids love cute things, and they may even recognize some of the creations in this book. With such a wide range of art included in this book, it could fit into any library from elementary to high school.
