Archie releases the Archie Christmas Classics and Papercutz is looking to have a Monster Christmas with their new title. Not part of the New 52 at DC is their kid’s title Tiny Titans, new this month, and Boom! Then a remake of the classic horror film Nosferatu is offered, Simpsons-style, and finally, Bart tries to uncover the truth behind the biggest mystery in the history of horror comics. Originally based on horror comics from the 50s, the Treehouse of Horror series has become a staple for the Halloween season. Artists for this issue include Jane Wiedlin, from the 80s girl band, the Go-Gos, Zander Cannon and Gene Ha of Top Ten, and indie artist Jim Woodring. Fans of The Simpsons, horror comics, or just a good read should pick this up.

Thomas Edison Genius Of The Electric Age TP – Viz premieres a new biography series from parent publisher Shogakukan. Thomas Alva Edison, known as the “king of invention”, created over 1,300 inventions that have helped shape our modern world. The movie projector, the phonograph, the storage battery and the electric light bulb are just a few. Based entirely on historical fact, this series can teach and entertain at the same time. Each volume also includes a map and historical timeline. This would be a great addition to any elementary or middle school library.
