Preview: Archie goes superhero
Archie turns superhero in the latest issue of Archie and Friends Double Digest #7, in a classic Pureheart the Powerful story that first ran in 1965. That was back in the Silver Age, and everyone was getting on the superhero bandwagon—the Batman television show may be the most famous example of superhero camp, but Archie beat them to it. The story, written by Frank Doyle and penciled by Bob White, is amazingly fresh; thanks to Archie’s timeless look, it could have been published last week. In fact, this Double Digest goes on sale in comics shops next week. While you’re waiting, enjoy the first few pages of Archie’s very first Pureheart the Powerful story.
