The Picks:

Kung Fu Panda 2 Movie Prequel – Can’t wait for the next Kung Fu Panda movie? Ape Entertainment has got you covered! Po is finding it difficult to balance his new role as Dragon Warrior with his responsibilities as a son. He is relieved when his Dad gets some extra help at the noodle shop. When Mr. Ping is taken hostage, it’s up to Po to save him or the restaurant will be under new management. This trade is a prequel to the new movie coming out this summer from Dreamworks. It’s a great way to feed a kids’ desire for more Kung Fu Panda, and stir up anticipation for the movie. It makes for great, light summer reading.

Salt Water Taffy: Seaside Adventures of Jack and Benny volume 4 Caldera’s Revenge – Jack and Benny’s first multi-volume adventure starts here! Captain Hollister gave the Jack and Benny The Hidden History of Chowder Bay, but they are having a hard time reading it. The appearance of a spooky whaling ship in the bay makes for a difficult-to-resist distraction, so it’s no time at all before the boys abandon the book and find themselves onboard, joining the search for the fiercest whale that ever lived: Caldera! The continuing adventures of Jack and Benny’s summer vacation are sure to entertain kids during their own summer days. And with the series being one of YALSA’s top graphic novels, parents can feel good about them reading it. Check out the preview of it here at GCK!
