The Picks:

Peanuts: Happiness Is A Warm Blanket Charlie Brown – The brand new Peanuts animated special becomes a graphic novel courtesy of Kaboom!, the recently renamed kids imprint from Boom! Studios. Linus’ Grandmother is coming to visit, and is intent on taking away his beloved security blanket, and the gang tries to help him cope. Also featured will be Charlie Brown’s kite-flying woes, Lucy’s unrequited love for Schroeder, and of course, Snoopy, everyone’s favorite beagle. The story is based on strips written by Charles Schulz, and is part of Peanut’s “The Year of ‘Happiness Is…'” celebration. Fans of all ages will be pleased this new addition to the Peanuts library of works.

Animal Academy volume 7 – This tale of a human girl in a school of all-magical animals comes to an end with this volume. Loose ends get tied up with this volume. Neko finally summons the courage to tell Sasuke how she feels. Yusuke and Sasuke’s secrets are revealed, as is their connection to Neko and the school. And what about the mysterious headmaster, and the handbook? Can the students of Morimori High overcome their sad pasts and find their own happy endings? This final volume looks to tie up all the loose ends, and maybe even give everyone a happy ending. This volume is a must for elementary and middle school libraries with kids who have been following this fun series.
