In early February, nominations for the 2011 Joe Shuster Canadian Comic Book Creator Awards were announced including the Comic for Kids/Bande Dessinées pour Enfants award.

Creators of the highly acclaimed graphic novel Skim have signed a deal for their second graphic novel with Groundwood Books in Canada and First Second in the U.S. As reported by Quill & Quire, Awago Beach Babies is “about teenagers in cottage country and a Burger King in Niagara Falls that makes girls pregnant.”

TVO, a Canadian public education media organization and televison channel has made their online archive available of all episodes of Prisoners of Gravity, an acclaimed comic book and science fiction news magazine television show. The show ran from 1989 to 1994 and features early interviews some of the top creators in comics and publishing today including Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman and Frank Miller.
