Today is Pocky Day! Why? It’s 11-11, and I imagine that next year (11-11-11) will be a Pocky jubilee year of some sort. GC4K contributor Lori Henderson celebrates at Manga Xanadu with a list of manga in which the characters eat Pocky.

At Robot 6, Tim O’Shea talks to Janet K. Lee, one of the co-authors of Return of the Dapper Men.

Raising Maine profiles Cap’n Eli creator Jay Piscopo.

Boom! Studios is making some changes to its line of Disney comics; as the Disney Comics Worldwide blog points out,

For the past year we’ve been seeing mostly long Italian adventure stories in BOOM!’s Disney comics, such as Ultraheroes and Wizards of Mickey. It now looks like BOOM! is returning some of their titles to a more traditional format, with several short stories in each issue, featuring both classic reprints and new stories that haven’t been seen in the United States yet.

At Oz and Ends, JL Bell compares Chris Giarusso’s G-Man books to “Homer Price in capes.”

Toon Books is sponsoring an anti-bullying comics contest for kids in New York state. Details are here.
