Studios, and manga kids get two titles, Del Rey’s magical girl Fairy Navigator Runa and Tokyopop’s Animal Academy, which is nearing the end of it’s run. For some light novel crossover, check out Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, the 4th volume in the series.

The Picks:

Billy Batson and the Magic of SHAZAM #21 – The well-liked all ages series comes to an end with this issue. Black Adam has become more powerful than ever before, and only Captain Marvel has the power to stand up to him. But will it be enough? The whole Marvel family of Mary Marvel, Captain Marvel Junior and Wizard join Captain Marvel to try and overcome Black Adams power. The cancellation of this title, along with several other superhero all ages books is apparantly temporary, if Dan Ditto is to believed from the DCkids panel at San Diego Comic Con. They are supposed to return under new editorialship. Batman The Brave and The Bold has already been confirmed. Hopefully the same will happen with Billy Batson and the others very soon.

Avengers Vs Pet Avengers #1 – This mini series was teased in the one-shot Pet Avengers: Dog Days that came out in the summer. Captain America, Iron Man and the Mighty Thor tried to take on the dragon Fing Fang Foom and got turned into frogs for their trouble. Now, the dragons have decided it’s time to take over the world and crush the puny humans once and for all! The only heros they can turn to for help are the Pet Avengers! The Pet Avengers has been a great series combining animals, comedy and action to make a title kids and adults love. Throwing in some dragons and magic certainly won’t hurt it any, nor will Frog Thor x 2!
