DC COMICS
Tiny Titans #31, $2.99

IDW PUBLISHING
Hodge The Hedgehog HC (resolicited), $15.99 ^^AA Pick^^

YEN PRESS
Goldilocks And The Seven Squat Bears HC, $14.99 ^^AA Pick^^

The Picks:

Hodge the Hedgehog – This picture book is the first for British Illustrator Benji Davies and writer by Amy Sparkes. Hodge the Hedgehog wants the whole hedge for himself, but the other animals in the forest want Hodge to learn to share. They put together a plan to teach Hodge a lesson in friendship, which comes up with some downright sill results, and everyone learns that sharing can save the day. Davies’ illustrations will appeal to young kids and Sparkes’ rhyming will make this a fun title to read out loud. And the lesson of sharing is one that can never be taught too much. Young children and beginner readers will enjoy reading this title.

Goldilocks and the Seven Squat Bears – Originally published in France, this title is the first of a series from Yen Press. The seven squat bears return home after a long day of working in the mines. The problem: they find a giantess sleeping on their beds. All seven of them! The solution: go out and find a prince to take care of the giantess. But will he be a giant-slaying prince or a princess-marrying prince? Or both? With a story filled with mixed-up fairy tales and plenty of humor, this title could be hit with both kids and adults. For a full review of this title, check out Snow Wildsmith’s review of it here.
